Torsional dampers

West Bend, Wis.-based Weasler Engineering offers a line of Viscous-Rubber-Spring (VRS) torsional dampers, which it said is designed to provide reduction of vibration in powertrain systems to protect engine and transmission components from excess wear. The dampers can be used in off-road, marine, ag and turf, or any engine application where dampening and reduced vibration are neededThe VRS dampers have a three-stage assembly that uses compression springs to dampen impact and shock load, a rubber damper to reduce torsional force and grease with the spring pockets to reduce transmission noise. The dampers are available with multiple SAE and metric splines and have a torsional stiffness up to 600 lb.ft.
