Yanmar Co. Ltd. said it is increasing production 20% at its Biwa, Japan plant. Biwa builds small industrial diesel engines and the changes will expand the plant's annual capacity to 360,000 units by the end of March 2005. The extra production capacity is being added in response to demand in the North American and European markets and will be achieved through productivity improvements. Yanmar is also reducing the number of engine models produced at the plant to 16 models by 2008
