Automotive testingexpo2006 will be held October 25-27 at the Rock Financial Showpiece, Novi, MI. Organized by UK & International Press Events, the event features more than 300 exhibitors and an Open Technology Forum with over 80 presentations. The forum covers more than 25 topics including: acoustical evaluation; durability testing; NVH control; sensors and transducers; simulation software; track simulation and laboratory testing; data acquisition; and vehicle dynamics evaluation.
Many of the exhibits that are concerned with technology related to noise and vibration control are listed below. Please use our new web-based reader service www.SandVeasy.com or the Reader-Service Card in this issue to request information from any of the exhibitors listed below. We will forward your request to the exhibitors. For additional information on the exhibition, the Open Technology Forum, and free registration information, visit www.testing-expousa.com.
Brüel & Kjær will be highlighting: their new consulting division, new compact passby noise system, real-time acoustic imaging tools, automated in-vehicle NVH test systems based on the PULSE platform, new PULSE-based ODS testing solutions, virtual reality vehicle simulator, new Source/Path/Contribution software for modeling/predicting vehicle noise sources, plus much more. Also on display will be the latest release of the PULSE NVH Acquisition platform, version 11. Included in this release are: full CAN Bus support, new charge accelerometer input modules, and the Req-X realtime transducer compensation. Data Physics will exhibit its SignalCalc Dynamic Signal Analyzers, SignalStar Vibration Control Systems and Signal Force Electrodynamic Shakers. Data Physics has been supplying high-performance test and measurement solutions for over 20 years. With the addition of a full line of electrodynamic shakers to complement its vibration controllers and dynamic signal analyzers, Data Physics is a total solution supplier for noise and vibration applications. Dewetron will be showcasing the DA-121 and DEWE-501 battery-powered data acquisition systems, featuring 16 to 64 dynamic inputs from accelerometers, strain gages, voltages, the DEWE-VGPS 200 Hz GPS sensor, and video cameras. Dewetron systems record from all these inputs simultaneously, with up to 24-bit resolution and 200 kHz/eh, or 16-bit resolution and 1 MHz/eh. Video up to 240 fps can also be acquired in sync, or standard USB cameras can be used. RS #193
Dytran's display will include a broad range of state-of-the-art piezoelectric accelerometers, load cells and pressure transducers. Also on display will be the new model 7500A series micro-machined DC accelerometer. The model 7500A series represents Dytran's entry into the DC accelerometer marketplace. This sensor series, based on variable capacitance technology, is available in several ranges and comes in a titanium, hermetically sealed and electrically isolated package with removable cable. The booth will be staffed with an application specialist to discuss your current and future requirements. RS #194
Endevco Corporation, a Meggitt group company, is a designer and manufacturer of instrumentation for vibration, shock, and pressure measurements. They will show their comprehensive line of piezoelectric, piezoresistive, ISOTRON® and variable capacitance accelerometers that are used to solve measurement problems in a wide variety of industries including aerospace, automotive, defense, medical, industrial, and marine. Available products to be shown include pressure transducers, microphones, and calibration systems. RS #155
Fabreeka will showcase many isolation solutions, including FABSORB(TM), FAB-EPM and low-frequency pneumatic isolators for automotive test equipment applications. Additionally, Fabreeka® has expanded its solutions to include air spring isolators for auto testing applications that require large dynamic deflections. They have provided isolation solutions for many applications including dynamometer, engine test rigs, road simulators, and shaker tables. RS #156
HEAD acoustics is featuring the new Octobox+ and the SQuadriga data acquisition frontends for the popular ArtemiS multichannel analysis system. New software for automating transfer path measurements, brake noise testing and sound power will also be presented. The latest features of ArtemiS, introduced with Version 8 will be shown. ArtemiS 8 features an advanced stand-alone recorder and many time-saving features for processing and managing data. An interactive display of the Mobile Driving Simulator is set-up to show how sounds predicted from analytical models can be used to listen to the simulated effects of design changes to a vehicle in a real driving experience. RS #157
HEM Data will exhibit DAWN an integrated hardware and software solution to acquire data from in-vehicle networks (using CAN and other protocols) and is a virtual 'gold mine' for the test engineer. DAWN(TM) simultaneously acquires analog and network data and displays them together so the user only needs to add sound and vibration sensors since he can capitalize on all of the sensors, already on the vehicle. DAWN is easily configured using HEM Data's award-winning SnapMaster(TM) data acquisition and analysis software and its intuitive graphical user interface.
