Ogura Industrial Corp. has developed a 350 lb.ft. power take-off clutch/brake for commercial mowers. This new unit incorporates a range of design advantages, the company said, including a 350 lb.ft. torque capacity, single-piece construction, double-row field bearings with high temperature grease and a new formed heavy-duty back plate.
The clutch can accommodate engine shafts up to 1 1/4 in. and the output can be pulley or flanged for the U-joint. Both 1 1/8 in. and 1 1/4 in. bore versions of this clutch are now available, the company said.
Ogura has also redesigned its PTO clutch/ brakes to give longer life, higher torque and better performance at reduced cost. The GT2.5 PTO clutch/brakes have had the torque increased to 150 lb.ft., the GT3.5 clutches will produce up to 250 lb.ft. and the GT5 clutches will produce up to 350 lb.ft. All clutches are made to mount on either a 1 in., 1 1/8 in. or 1 1/4 in. engine shaft.
In 2004, the company's newest manufacturing plant in China will be opened, making a total of 13 manufacturing operations for Ogura worldwide
