Hydraulics firm gains European distributor award

Mend-a-Hose Hydraulics has surpassed its already outstanding performance of winning Parker Hannifin European Distributor of the Year Award 2005, to go on and win the award again this year.
As always the competition was tough with over 250 certified Parker Hannifin distributors from almost every country in Europe and across the Middle East vying for the coveted prize. Nevertheless, the specialised hydraulics distributor and engineering company successfully set itself apart from the rest, winning the award for the second time in its seventeen year history.

Established in 1989, Castleford, UK-based Mend-a-Hose offers a customer focused service to a wide range of clients throughout Yorkshire and the surrounding areas.

In addition, the company operates a Hose Doctor mobile service and a comprehensive ParkerStore that stocks the entire line of Parker products comprising over 5,000 hydraulic and pneumatic hoses, fittings and components.

Developed to recognise excellence in skill, expertise and commitment, the prestigious Parker Hannifin Distributor of the Year Award initiative looks at key areas of each distributor's business such as technical, commercial and customer services.

Particular attention is paid to sales growth across five Parker Hannifin product lines, the overall focus that the distributor places on Parker Hannifin products and, most importantly, the level of added value that they deliver to their customers, including 24x7 support, customer product training, system engineering and speed of response.

Achim Kohler, marketing and business development manager at Parker and founder of the awards, explained, 'Throughout the last year Mend-a-Hose has demonstrated considerable improvements in value added strengths in many key areas.

In addition to this they continue to target MRO related opportunities that builds on the fact that this market maintains its stability, even in times of external business climate fluctuations, ensuring their consistent profitability.

Mend-a-Hose also demonstrated essential strengths distinguishing them from the competition, including the fact that they operate a fleet of 10 hose doctor vans, more than any other European distributor, thus ensuring a quick response time and reliable service.
