MIG welder wins prestigious German design award Kemppi Oy's MinarcMig Adaptive 180 MIG-welding unit has won Germany's prestigious Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen red dot design award in the Industry and Crafts category. Kemppi Oy's MinarcMig Adaptive 180 won Germany's prestigious Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen red dot design award in the Industry and Crafts category. Handed out annually, the red dot award is one of the most prestigious industrial design awards.

Over 2,000 products from 41 countries were evaluated in the red dot competition.

The award puts Kemppi among the few Finnish companies which have won the award with own products.

The success of the Kemppi MinarcMig Adaptive 180 was assured by the completely new approach to engineering, design and quality.

The international panel of judges assessed each product's innovativeness, practicality, quality, ergonomics, durability and environmental-friendliness.

The MinarcMig Adaptive 180's user-friendly design makes good on Kemppi's customer promise - 'The Joy of Welding'.

The machine's adaptive adjustments are simple and the instructive LCD display makes using the machine easy.

In practice this adaptiveness means that the user chooses the material and sheet thickness, based on which the machine provides the optimal welding parameters.

The LCD display shows graphically the key data: amperes and voltage, selected wire feed speed, and material and gas combination.

Thanks to its ease of use, the machine is suitable for professional and hobby applications.

The red dot award ceremony will take place on 26 June in Essen, Germany.
